For nearly two decades, we have been working with Gary May to develop a range of Jesmonite lighting.
Felix Lighting Specialists works across vintage lighting and original designs, creating pieces with a strong sense of character. Jesmonite has given the UK studio a way to reproduce forms inspired by vintage finds and to develop new shades and bases for its own collections.
For a vintage piece, the challenge is preserving the details that make it distinctive while creating components for a new fitting. For an original design, it is shaping an idea into something that feels at home alongside Felix’s established range. Jesmonite supports both approaches, allowing the team to explore form and finish across a broad variety of lighting pieces.
It has been a pleasure collaborating with Gary May. His breadth of vision has led him to explore the full range of Jesmonite materials, using their different qualities to transform the character of a shade. A change in material or finish can give a familiar form an entirely new presence.
From reproducing vintage details to developing original pieces, Felix brings curiosity and care to every design. The result is a broad lighting collection that draws on the past, embraces new possibilities and reaches customers around the world.
